Welcome to Cap'n B Sailing
Sailing is one of the most exhilarating and empowering activities you can experience- Raising the sails and quietly moving across the sea with only the power of the wind. It is the stuff novels are made of, and you can live it!
If you've ever wanted to learn to sail, this is for you. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the ride, or wish to handle the helm yourself, we have you covered. We can teach without the heavy theory and complicated terms, or for those interested in the technical side, we can take you there as well.
Some of the topics we will explore are points of sail, anchoring, docking and close quarter maneuvering, pump-out stations, picking up mooring balls, modern navigation and navigating with charts and compasses, understanding the rules of the road, markers, buoys, lights, entering harbors, using VHF radios, radar and much more.
Most sailors feel comfortable sailing independently after just a few lessons. From there, we can focus on specific skills, and once you have your own boat, we can provide tailored support on your vessel.
We teach on a well-appointed 36' masthead sloop by Catalina Yachts. We are affiliated with American Sailing, the most recognized sailing community in the world. We can provide certification if you wish to join a club or charter abroad in the future.
